Beacon Herald Phone Books
The Final Push January 14
It seemed like an easy way to raise funds back at the October meeting when Grand Knight John Price threw out the idea to deliver Beacon Herald phone books. It didn’t get going until early in December.Six weeks later after snow storms, rain, cold, and a break for Christmas, 12,000 books have been delivered. Thanks to all who helped: brother knights, spouses, relatives, children, grandchildren,friends, neighbours.
Appreciation Dinner
55 people came out to socialize and enjoy a well prepared appreciation meal for members and their partners.

There are social events at this time of year that are enjoyed by many council members are their friends. These events have people behind the scene that work to ensure the event comes to pass. Thanks are in order to Jeff and Jean Smith for their efforts to make the Christmas party a success and to Joe & Rosemary Lorentz, Ken Gaffney and Tom & Louise Gould for another successful New Year’s eve pot luck and card party.

The semi-annual council euchre party and roast beef dinner was again very successful. Joe Lorentz reported a profit of $800 from a sold-out night.
Thanks to Ken Gaffney along with Fred Dubrick, Tom Gould, Mike Mooney, and Jim & Marlene Kelly for volunteering to stand by the Salvation Army kettle earlier this month.
Thanks to Mike Lobsinger and helpers Shawn Raiman, John Price, and Mike Mooney for organizing the skating party. 80 skaters enjoyed the outing.
Thirty members enjoyed a meal prior to the December council meeting. Thanks again to Mike for organizing the meal. After the January council meeting it will time to play Chase the Ace. Mike also sets up the Boston Pizza fund raisers for council.
November Euchre Report
We had thirty players come out for our November Euchre. Big thanks to Eileen and Harry Thomas, Joyce and Marco Eusebi, and Marlene and Jim Kelly for contributing sandwiches, and to Donna Price and Marlene Kelly for the desserts.

Community Meal
On June 16, Brother Jim Kelly led our cooking and serving crew to deliver the second of our Community Meals to about 70 people. Thanks to Fred Dubrick Ken Gaffney, Tom Gould, Allan Grapes, Joe Lorentz, Joe Lynett, Larry McCabe, Jim Miron, Lorne Twamley, Bernie Van Herk, Tony Vigar, and Harry Visser

BBQ for Faith Alive Camp
The usual ‘suspects’ doing the BBQing with some help from a couple of unnamed ‘tasters’ who came by to make certain the food was safe for the campers to ingest.

Relay for Life
‘Breakfast’ of ham and egg on a bun, at 10:00 pm, was served for 400 participants in the annual Relay for Life to support cancer research. The group below looks like they work better ‘in the dark’.
