Brothers,
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Jean and I want to wish everyone a very happy, safe, memorable Christmas this year, and a very prosperous Happy New Year as well.
We hope to see everyone at the Christmas dinner on December 11th. If you haven’t got your ticket yet, please give John Price or myself a call.

Brothers,
The next two months are going to be busy months for us. We have Remembrance Day ceremonies to perform, Christmas Hams to be sold, Communion Breakfast, and the Christmas Party. So there’s lots of opportunities to get involved and help out your Brother Knights.
As we mentioned during the last meeting, we are looking for local sponsors to donate prizes for our Christmas dinner. If you know of anyone who runs a local business please get out there and as if they’d be willing to donate a small prize, typically in the $25 range. The more sponsors we get, the better our party will be and hopefully the more funds we can raise.
And don’t forget we have our annual Christmas Hams project running again. The great news is that will get our hams at the same cost as last year, despite all of the inflation you saw at the groceries stores this year. So this is a great deal for your customers!

Brothers,
It was good to see such a large crowd at our September dinner meeting. I hope that we can see even more people out for our October dinner on the 26th.
This month brings us our annual Thanksgiving Day holiday. I hope that everyone has a chance to see their family and friends and to give thanks for all of the blessings we receive. We’re very lucky to live in a land of such abundance. Take a moment this month to remember those less fortunate. Know that you belong to an organization that dedicates itself to helping those in need, all year long. Be proud of the work you do with the Knights.

Brothers,
After a busy month of May, we look forward to a nice relaxing summer.
This month’s bulletin is a long one, but there’s one big issue that I want everyone to give some thought to. It seems that our “Phone Captains” system needs to be updated. Attendance to recent events has been low so we want to make sure that everyone is in fact being notified of upcoming events in a timely manner. To that end our phone captains and myself are looking at the lists and trying to find out where people are going missing. If you have not heard from your phone captain in a while, please let me know. If you prefer to be notified by email, then send me your email address.
My own email address is rjeffsmith@live.ca. My Stratford phone number is 226-786-0151. If you can’t get me on the Stratford number then my cell number is 226-789-1899.

Brothers,
Now that the warm weather is upon us it’s a great time to come out to the few events that we have left before we break for the summer. We have a Communion Breakfast on May 3rd, Honour Guard for Confirmation on May 24th, a Dinner Meeting on May 25th, then the BBQ Social on June 22nd. Plus there’s a couple of good Euchre games as well.
Exemplification is soon upon us. We have some good men who are considering their opportunity to join the 4th. Please take the time to encourage them in their decision, and make them feel welcome.
Candidates are welcome to be our guests at the May Communion Breakfast.
Registration for spouses and guests is available on line on the District website: www.kofc5thontdistrict.com.

Brothers,
I hope everyone had a good Easter weekend. I just got back from a work trip late Holy Thursday evening so I grateful to be home with my family. Now it’s back to work.
Please note that there is no dinner meeting in April, just a business meeting on the 27th. In last month’s bulletin I mentioned that the meeting was cancelled; this was a typo on my part. Council has a fundraiser dinner on April 20th at Boston Pizza, please try to attend if you can.

Brothers,
This is our last bulletin before Holy Week begins. I trust that all of us will find the time to reflect on just what our faith means to us as well as how we reflect that faith in our daily lives.
I would never presume to try to explain the meaning of Lent to my brother Knights, who know their faith so much better than I, but instead let me wish you and your families peace and grace during this most solemn of times.

Candidates are welcome to be our guests at the March Dinner, as well as the May Communion Breakfast.
