My name is Mark Kawucha, and I am 24 years old. I was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It is also where I am currently attending school at triOS College.
For as long as I can remember, I've been exposed to technology and video games, which helped kick-start my passion for this field from an early age. Before I was even 3 years old I was playing games like Super Mario World on the SNES, and Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis. From there, my parents purchased a home computer, and that was where I discovered critically acclaimed titles such as Doom, Quake and Half-Life. Since then, my love for games has only grown, and I've had the honor of experiencing the growth of the video game industry over the past 2 decades.
During highschool, I developed an interest in music, specifically guitar, and over the next few years I wrote musical pieces. This experience helped me appreciate the process of sound and music design in video games, and I found myself listening to and enjoying more of the audio in the games I played. Also, I spent quite a lot of time experimenting with Source SDK, creating Source based maps for Half-Life 2. This inspired me to pursue level design on a professional level.
My goal for the future is based heavily on these 2 elements. However, despite my love for these specializations, I am a very flexible person and like to learn new things and apply that knowledge in a practical manner.
Currently, after a year of attending triOS, I've gained new experience and knowledge about programming in multiple languages. We've used C++ for text-based games, C# in Unity, and Javascript in multiple games. We've used Android for mobile programming, and Swift for iOS programming. I've grown extremely fond of coding thus far, and I can't wait to learn more and grow as a programmer!
