The game is about a sushi roll come to life and escapes the kitchen and goes on adventures. I wanted to make a game close to Super Mario Bros but have my own twist on it like Mario my main mechanic is jumping and parkouring over the maps there is minimal combat since my main focus once I have artist behind this is to make it more anime looking every level the art work is what I want to be very good and jumping to be overhauled once I learn better ways to make a jump system.
What was my biggest struggle during the Development cycle for this game? Well the artwork was my biggest hurdle I was not able to get any anime looking sprites for this game, so I had to improvise and used what I had. and the jumping mechanic I had to keep tweaking it, so it was just enough to reach certain areas to make it challenging. The power ups were another struggle at first but once I got it was easy to make variations of power ups.
What could have been better and can be added for an update? Well I would like to get an anime 3D sushi roll to replace my player sprite. All the levels redone to have the anime look I want. Make it possible to control the player while in air. Add way more levels and traps and pitfalls mechanics. Maybe even make the levels even more random like the order in which keys to collect or where items spawn.
Maki Roll
Each level will have keys to find to get to the next level.
