The Final Push January 14
It seemed like an easy way to raise funds back at the October meeting when Grand Knight John Price threw out the idea to deliver Beacon Herald phone books. It didn’t get going until early in December.Six weeks later after snow storms, rain, cold, and a break for Christmas, 12,000 books have been delivered. Thanks to all who helped: brother knights, spouses, relatives, children, grandchildren, friends, neighbours.
55 people came out to socialize and enjoy a well prepared appreciation meal for members and their partners.
There are social events at this time of year that are enjoyed by many council members are their friends. These events have people behind the scene that work to ensure the event comes to pass. Thanks are in order to Jeff and Jean Smith for their efforts to make the Christmas party a success and to Joe & Rosemary Lorentz, Ken Gaffney and Tom & Louise Gould for another successful New Year’s eve pot luck and card party.
The semi-annual council euchre party and roast beef dinner was again very successful. Joe Lorentz reported a profit of $800 from a sold-out night.
Thanks to Ken Gaffney along with Fred Dubrick, Tom Gould, Mike Mooney, and Jim & Marlene Kelly for volunteering to stand by the Salvation Army kettle earlier this month.
Thanks to Mike Lobsinger and helpers Shawn Raiman, John Price, and Mike Mooney for organizing the skating party. 80 skaters enjoyed the outing.
Thirty members enjoyed a meal prior to the December council meeting. Thanks again to Mike for organizing the meal. After the January council meeting it will time to play Chase the Ace. Mike also sets up the Boston Pizza fund raisers for council.
We had thirty players come out for our November Euchre. Big thanks to Eileen and Harry Thomas, Joyce and Marco Eusebi, and Marlene and Jim Kelly for contributing sandwiches, and to Donna Price and Marlene Kelly for the desserts.
Thanks of course to our hosts Jim Kelly and John Price.
The CWL brunch on Sunday October 2 was a success.
